Why are Graphic Recordings and Strategy Images Particularly Useful in Change Management and Organizational Development?

When an organization is restructured, new processes or tools are introduced, or the corporate strategy is realigned, people must change with it. But how? With the help of visualizations, employees can not only be informed of the necessity of the changes, but also actively involved in the transformation process and help shape it.

Which Visualization Formats Can Be Used in Change Management and Organizational Development?

In the course of a change management project, there are many opportunities to make a positive contribution to the transformation process through visualizations. For example:

  • Visualizing the current situation (and what would happen if we did nothing?)
  • A target image that explains the reasons, goals and most important changes of the transformation.
  • A project presentation that explains in which steps and with which measures the change should succeed.
  • An animated PowerPoint presentation that can be used by managers to exchange ideas about the change project in the team.
  • A graphic recording of an event where affected employees exchange ideas about the consequences of the changes for their work.
  • Visualizing the retrospective: What went well? What can we do better in the next transformation process?

My Strength: Visual Expertise AND Content-Oriented Thinking

I am familiar with change management and organizational development not only because of the many transformation processes I have accompanied as a graphic recorder: As a former employee of international corporations, I have experienced firsthand what it means to constantly adapt to changing circumstances.

In addition, through my work as an illustrator for the books “Handbuch Prozessberatung” and “Mythos Change”, I have solid theoretical knowledge of all the facets that should be considered in a transformation process.
