Why are Graphic Recordings and Strategy Images Particularly Useful in Politics, Administration and Public Service?

Institutions such as political parties, foundations and public administrations, in contrast to private sector companies, have an explicit responsibility towards society. In order to fulfill this responsibility, participation and democratic voting processes are particularly important. Graphic recordings and target images can provide excellent support for this stakeholder dialogue.

Typical questions that can be discussed using a visualization include:

• Which internal and external groups and individuals are involved?
• Who has which needs, expectations or demands?
• How are these influenced by social developments, cultural attitudes or technical progress?
• Who has which role, tasks or responsibility?
• Which goals should be achieved?
• Which practical steps could lead to the goal?

Even if a uniform opinion or consensus cannot often be reached on the questions, simply making the different voices and perspectives visible is already a valuable contribution on the way to a solution: Only when someone feels heard and understood can they open up to the opinion of others.

My Strength: Visualizing, Combined with Experience in Designing Group Dialogue Processes.

A stakeholder dialogue often takes place in several rounds and several parallel groups. It is often a challenge to consolidate and summarize the information. I can support this by designing templates that are used in group work to structure and prioritize the content. Sometimes I present a “status report” or a “direction” of my visualization (often in the form of a suitable metaphor and visual language), which helps to channel the dialogue and move the participants mentally in a common direction.

I exchange ideas closely with the moderation both in advance and during the event.
