The event

The e-invoicing summit offers a practice-oriented exchange of experience and knowledge between public administration and companies on all aspects of closing the digital gap from ordering to invoicing and payment. Experts will report on the latest developments in e-invoicing worldwide and its significance for Germany.

The Graphic Recordings

I have already graphically documented the content of the event five times. In a preliminary discussion with the organizer, we look together at which metaphor is best suited to depict the current situation.

• The picture from 2016 shows the order chain with a digital carrier pigeon.
• In 2028, the digitization process is depicted as a heavy cart being pushed over the bridge with combined forces.
• The focus in 2021 is on a digitalized order process as a highway. The tax authorities in some countries are getting ready to use the data stream for tax purposes.
• The picture from 2022 shows all interest groups at one table. Different models for data exchange are on the table.
• In 2024, companies will have to get ready for the mandatory receipt of e-invoices. The transformation is illustrated metaphorically using a “shipyard”.
• When the receipt of e-bills was made mandatory in 2025, there were a few things that didn’t work properly. Like an orchestra that is supposed to play new instruments.
