Explanatory videos
An explanatory video is a short, clear video that explains complex content in a simple and understandable way.
Especially if you want to reach a new, uninitiated target group for a topic, low-threshold, easy-to-understand communication is important. In this case, an animated video is often better suited than a complex target image. Typical application scenarios for explanatory videos are:
The concept is developed in a one-day workshop in a small group. Storytelling is the focus from the start. Together we specify the target group, define the main message, collect and select key information and look for suitable images and narrative structures.
Next, the script is finalized and developed into a storyboard. The images are hand-drawn by me in ProCreate and – depending on the style and complexity – brought to life in Adobe After Effects or PowerPoint. Finally, the video is accompanied by the voice of a professional speaker, sound effects and background music. I take over the project management for the entire process.
In explanatory videos, the viewer decides for themselves at any time whether to continue watching – or click away. It is therefore important that the viewers are drawn into the story from the start. Attention can be stimulated through curiosity, emotions, humor or a particularly original design. Together we develop an individual solution that stands out from the crowd of explanatory videos with its own drawing style and an original story.
In cooperation with CoAnimate.com I offer CoAnimation workshops. In small groups, participants develop their own videos together with moderators and animators. In three half days, they immerse themselves deeply in the topic, determine the core message, write the script and develop ideas for the presentation. The result is not only a great video, but also an enthusiastic team!
